THE ARAB SPRING AND THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD IN EGYPT

Аннотация. В статье рассматривается связь между событиями Арабской весны в Египте и многолет­ней деятельностью «Братьев-мусульман». В 2011-2012 гг. гражданское общество Египта сумело мо­билизоваться в жёстких условиях политической несвободы и не только превратить бунт в начало ре­волюции, но и продолжить её, пройдя точку невозврата, во многом, потому что всё это время суще­ствовали «Братья-мусульмане» - организация, десятилетия целенаправленно формировавшая это гражданское общество во имя своей политической цели.

Summary. The paper examines the connection between the events of the Arab Spring in Egypt and the long­term activity of the Muslim Brotherhood. In 2011-2012 Egypt's civil society was capable to mobilize itself in the context of lack of political freedom and not only expand their revolt into a revolution, but continue it and cross the event horizon, largely due to the presence of the Muslim Brotherhood that had been around all the t ime. It is an organization that has for decades been shaping Egypt's society for the sake of its political goals.
